It’s that time of the year where we throw those sweaters and coats away and get into nice summer wear and show off that skin J In case you are wondering what does the spring/summer 2013 fashion have in store for you, then leave your worries aside because we have handpicked some of the latest motif trends of the season just for you:

Stripes

This season's biggest trends include a heavy dose of stripes. Thick or thin, bright or basic, these are the shirts, dresses, skirts, pants we recommend shopping for.  Vertical Stripes can make you look thinner and horizontal stripes can make you look fuller, so choose your style carefully.

Monochrome colors

It all started with Louis Vuitton showcasing excess of check prints on the ramp. This trend seems to rule catwalk and lately top of the line celebs and fashionistas can’t seem to get enough of it. Monochrome checks are the latest fad . Black and white are the colors of the season, be it checkers, stripes or polka dots this trend is a sure shot hit for the season. Be it western, Indian wear, or accessories, the black and white line is a must have for every wardrobe.

Metallic colors

2013 spring/summer fashion introduced us to the futuristic metallic palette. From flirty frocks and shimmer pencil skirts, to iridescent pastel sarees and delicate brocade jackets, every fashion option has had a metallic make-over for spring / summer 2013.

Go Floral

You can never go wrong with floral prints in summer/spring. Be it sarees, maxi dresses, skirts, short dresses, jackets or pants, floral prints is the in thing for spring/summer fashion. And if you thought floral prints are just for the ladies you may be wrong, floral printed shirts are finding their way to men’s wardrobe too.

Style Check: Hair tips

Latest Hair Color Trend

Getting your hair colored can always be a tricky affair, unless you find a shade perfectly tailored to your personality, skin color and the latest trend.

Shailee recommends the following color trends for your hair in summer 2013 -

Go for Ombré

Ombré is the latest hair color trend which fades from dark to light, or light to dark. Instead of the color starting from the roots, it gradually becomes lighter, or darker, towards the ends or vice versa.

Dip dye is the latest hair color trend where in  the hair tips look as if they were dipped in hair dye, the only difference between ombré and dip dye is that the latter usually uses brighter, bolder and less natural colors. Go bright this summer and find these latest colors to dip your hair in - blood red, sea blue, dark pink, sea green and bright orange,… Go wacky and bold!

Girls with short hair can highlight their hair with lighter color tones to add that glamour quotient

Timeless Fashion

Chikankari work is here to stay

Some elements never go out of fashion, the traditional and elegant Chikankari embroidery work is one of them. The word “Chikankari,” often shortened to Chikan, is an elegant style of hand embroidery.  It developed quickly during the period when the Mughals ruled India and consisted of styles inspired by the Persians. Lucknow grew into an international market for its renowned Chikankari work. Off late the fine and intricate Chikankari work is creating a buzz in the glamour world.

Manish Malhotra showcased the elegant Chikankari work in his “Mizwan” collection in 2012. Thereafter the tinsel town celebrities have been seen sporting this elegant style at several events. At a recent event, Kareena was seen wearing a Chikankari saree designed by Manish Malhotra and we felt she looked stunning in her traditional avatar. Deepika too looked resplendent in a beautiful Chikankari jacket at an event, promoting her forthcoming movie, Jawani Diwani.

The Traditional “Nath”

The traditional nose ring (“Nath”), created quite a fashion buzz at the Cannes Film Festival this year. With actresses like Vidya Balan and Sonam Kapoor sporting traditional nose rings at the international Cannes Film Festival, “Shailee” believes this could be the next big trend.

Bollywood and Hollywood Celebrities have been sporting a nose ring on screen for quite some time. Sonakshi is one actress who loves to flaunt her nose ring on screen as well as off screen and it goes well with all her looks. Hollywood celebrities like Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Jessica Biel have embraced the charm of the jewel too.

In fact, while many were in two minds over Vidya and Sonam's decision to wear a nose ring at a prestigious red carpet gala like the Cannes fiesta, internationally known Ritu Beri said it added a "sassy vibe" to their look.

Designers believe the nose accessory can never go out of trend and it not just helps in making a bold style statement but also adds the oomph factor to one's personality.

"It definitely adds a fun edge to the look," Beri told IANS.
